Easter!

We had a nice weekend in the region of home. Saturday was pretty nice weather which enticed us outdoors. Grayson is an outdoors kind of guy. Always willing to put on his socks and shoes once he hears the proposition of heading out. He's very upset when outside means getting in the car to go somewhere. Man, does he feel gypped and he lets you know it. He's just a happy little camper roaming the yard and various adjacencies. He embodies the 'no fences' lifestyle. He loves to go to the park and cruise the slide over and over again. He's careful to climb the wrungs of the ladder to get up and then explodes down either sitting or on his stomach. He's very fearless when he wants to be. Unfortunately for him and his hard head, fearless is easily converted to careless all too often. His first real Easter egg hunts were a learning experience. He was the type of kid to find one and consider it good enough to stop and enjoy the spoils. Gently prodding onward was often the scenario.

Shani is proud of her bike riding prowess these days. Her skills consist of a very cautious pace with the training wheels fully extended. She fell over once a couple of weeks ago and it took many days of urging and consolation to get her back on. Now she's ever proud and exclaims how she rode and didn't fall over. Who knows what will happen when a tumble strikes back. She loves Easter. It's third best she says. After Christmas and Halloween. I have a feeling her scale plots candy on one axis and quantity on the other. Both children can throw it back with the best of them. Shani is also enjoying preschool and seems to be learning. She's eager to read, but slightly unfocused. There's a lot of her father in there. Let's hope for a cure!

The Beck's hosted an awesome dinner. Every dish was as good as the previous. It was monumentally taste-bud-alicious. Ribs, rolls, asparagus, etc. I'll throw in some pics to tell the story further. Hope you are all healthy and happy. We're sorry we'll miss Sawyer's baptism this week.

Since our last post mom and dad have come by for a visit (it'd been 8 months since we've seen them and longer than that since they've graced the tri-cities). The kids took to them right quick. Ma and pa have a way about them. We also went to Seattle last Tuesday and Wednesday for another finger appointment. No news there. Finger is salvage and useful for typing and snagging on various outcroppings. The pain reminds me it's still there and I need to respect it. Whatever. Anyway, it was good to see Mara and Co. They are always very welcoming and entertaining. The kids get along well and Grayson had a lot of cherished moments with Owen the cat. He still walks around with his hand palm up and a quizzical look on his face saying, "Owie?"

Check out the pics. More in due time... Love and miss you all!
